BECOME A SOWER, OWN YOUR BUSINESS

Wealth is gained through reaping of harvest. Harvest can only come after seedtime, hence, the need to sow. Harvest needs to be kept in a store as it accumulates. The Lord blesses the works of our hands and the harvest is deposited in storehouses. Deut. 28:8. The presence and capacity of a storehouse is therefore directly proportional to the quantity of harvest. An employee is paid a fixed amount as salary and as such, had a limited capacity for becoming wealthy. This, grossly limits the amount of harvest he can ever reap. The rest of his blessings are deposited in the employer's storehouse even though the employee may be the one doing the work...

An employer on the other hand, shares profit. He pays his staff and takes the rest. He owns the storehouse and reaps thereof. The owner is the fulfilled sower. He has a benevolent and generous mentality. The sower is the saviour of society. The eater depends on him to survive. The eater has an entitlement mind-set, he expects to get a job, a pension or a miracle whereas the sower works with God to provide the job, the pension and the miracle.

The sower, however, will at a point, have to work for or with someone. It gives him the opportunity or platform to learn and gain capacity to establish his own storehouse. This time will last as long as it will take to gain just adequate capacity. Capacity here could stand for capital, knowledge and experience. While working for or with someone, the sower does not think of himself or work as an employee. He works like an owner. He is as committed to the business as the man who owns the business. This prepares him for running his own business. The eater is a perpetual employee and is doomed as long as wealth is concerned. He has no time of his own, loses his personality and vision, lives in fear and is insecure. He will leave no inheritance for his children.

As we become sowers and that rightly, we must work with the owner’s mentality wherever we work now and ultimately strive to establish our own storehouses (businesses). This will position us to receive the wealth that God intends to give us.
