If prayer is communication with God, then it is not so much about me talking to Him as it is He talking to me. There is nothing I am going to tell God that He does not know rather there is so much He wants to tell me that I don't know. Again, prayer should make me a better person. It is not what I tell God that does it. It is what He tells me. Furthermore, what I tell God could be borne out of my ignorance. What He tells me is a function of the vastness of His knowledge. So listening to God is so much more praying than talking to Him.
