There are things our fathers did that we must continue to do. There are also things that they did that, in the light of available knowledge today, are manifestly stupid and we must stop doing them. It is a mockery if we continue to do in the light what our predecessors did in darkness. We can't continue to do things simply because they are OUR tradition. We must insist on doing things because they are useful and helpful to us and our future generations.
